Hardware & Network Recommendations For Using Remote Guests

Our team has tested out our remote guests feature on a handful of different desktop setups. Below is a non-exhaustive list of what we have tested and the extent to which we recommend using these setups for specifically in regards to remote guests.

Note that only Vimeo Enterprise users can add up to 10 remote guests; all other users can add up to 5 guests.

Network recommendations


If you intend on having guests join your stream, make sure you are connected to the internet via Ethernet. You should have a download speed of 2.5Mbps per guest and an upload speed of 6.5Mbps per guest.


Guests joining your stream should ensure their network speeds are at least 6.5Mbps upload and 2.5Mbps download.

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 (3.2 GHz or better)
  • RAM: 16 Gb
  • Can stream properly to one destination at 1080p30

  • 1 media or camera source
  • 10 Remote guests

Windows PC

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K (3.7 GHz or better)
  • RAM: 16 Gb
  • Can stream properly to one destination at quality 1080p30
