Supported Wi-Fi Networks on Broadcaster V1

Streaming from legacy hardware, such as the original version of the Livestream Broadcaster, will no longer be supported on May 25, 2022. Please contact support with any questions.

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to the first version of the Livestream Broadcaster, which was discontinued in Spring 2015. It does not apply to the Broadcaster mini or Broadcaster Pro.

The Livestream Broadcaster is a stand-alone encoding device that allows the owner to stream directly to their Livestream event with a HDMI camera over WiFi, Ethernet or a 4G Network modem.

When troubleshooting internet connectivity issues, an important item to keep in mind is the type of network security on the connection being used.

The Livestream Broadcaster currently supports 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n networks with one of the following security settings:

  • No Security / No Password
  • WEP
  • WPA-Personal (AES or TKIP)
  • WPA2-Personal (AES or TKIP)

NOT supported are:

  • 5.0GHz network
  • 2.4GHz 802.11 a/ac network 
  • Any wireless network with WPA2-Enterprise security.
