Customers on any paid subscription plan or on an active free trial can get analytics by implementing Google Analytics in your account.
Livestream Premium and Enterprise users also have access to Livestream's native Analytics Suite. This feature allows producers to track and display how many people viewed their content rather than page views.
Google Analytics is a free service that shows how many people visited your page, how often, how they found it, how long they spent on it, and more. This feature does not currently show individual event analytics, but rather, analytics for an entire profile.
We highly recommend using a separate Google account for each URL you are tracking in Google Analytics. If you have an account for your specific web address, you should use a separate account for your Livestream profile.
To create a Google Tracking ID:
Go to https://analytics.google.com/ and sign into your Google account. If you have never used Google Analytics before, select Sign up on the right side of the page.
If you do already have a Google Analytics account, add a new account by navigating to the Admin dashboard, opening the Account dropdown menu, then selecting Add New Account.
Fill in the requested information
- Account Name: Create a name that will be easy to remember (e.g. Livestream).
- Add new account. Enter livestream.com as the Web Site URL.
- Fill in the remaining requested information
Click Get Tracking ID. Review the Terms and Conditions and Accept.
You will be redirected to your Google Analytics Tracking ID number.
Note: If your Tracking Status reads Tracking Not Installed, ignore it. You're still on the right path.
Copy your Tracking ID.
Log in to Livestream.com
In your Dashboard, go to Settings and then select Advanced from the left hand menu. Here, you will have the ability to add your Google Analytics Tracking ID. Once you do so, click Save.
