Configure Wirecast with Livestream

Enterprise customers can directly integrate their Livestream events with Wirecast and get the full benefits of cloud transcoding without needing to input their RTMP information.

Learn more about cloud transcoding.

In Wirecast, navigate to Output Settings...

If Livestream is not already appearing in the Destination list, select More...

Check Livestream, then click OK.

You can now choose Livestream from the destination list.

After doing so, additional options will populate in the Output Settings window. Name your stream, and choose your streaming quality in the Encoding dropdown menu. The highest bitrate you choose will be the highest video quality available to your viewers. The stream will then be cloud transcoded to display lower quality options to provide viewers with slower internet connections with a good viewing experience.

Under Username, enter the email associated with your Livestream account, then click Authenticate.

If you do not have a Livestream account, click Sign Up on the right side to be directed to our pricing page. This feature only works with Enterprise plans.

Enter your account password, then click OK.

You will know that your account has been authenticated when the Channel drop-down menu populates your events. Only current or upcoming events will be displayed in this list. Past events will not be listed.

Choose an event, then save your output settings.

Click the Stream icon in Wirecast (upper left corner of the Preview window) to go live to the selected event page. To end the stream, click the icon again.

When your stream ends, the VOD will be saved as a draft. To publish the VOD post, go to your event editor and select Draft & Scheduled Posts.

Select your video, then navigate to the bottom of the video post drawer. Select your desired option (Publish Immediately, Publish at Specific Time, etc.), then click Post.
