Embed Won't Autoplay

If you embed your live event and enable Autoplay, you may notice in some instances the live video will not play automatically. This is typically a browser-based limitation, especially with Google Chrome.

Chrome blocks autoplay for non-muted content and creates a media engagement index (MEI) for every website, which is based on user engagement. When the MEI score for a website is above a certain value, Chrome will allow videos to autoplay. To see a list of websites with scores, open Chrome and enter chrome://media-engagement/ into the address bar and navigate to it.

Learn more about Chrome's Autoplay Policy.

To ensure that your content always autoplays regardless of your website's MEI, you would need to mute audio on page load.

Navigate to your event page on livestream.com and select the Share icon in the upper right corner.

Select Embed > More Options and toggled on Mute video by default.

Viewers will be able to unmute the audio when the player loads for them.
