You can customize the URL for your individual event pages, essentially replacing the "events/1234567" part of the URL with a short name of your choosing.
Click on the Editor icon in the upper right corner.
Select the Event Details menu.
Scroll down to the Event Custom URL field. Type in the short name for your event's URL. The editor will indicate whether or not you have already used that for an event. Then click Update Settings at the bottom of the drawer.
Your URL will now be active for that event page.
