You can adjust specific video output settings in the Video Preferences menu in Livestream Producer. Generally, these settings will not need to be changed if you are using a preset quality. If you select Custom Quality, this is where you would customize your bitrate and video resolution.
- Source: Select your video source. If your video source is not visible, please ensure it is a digital connection capable of streaming video.
- Output: Designate an output resolution and adjust as necessary. Please note that higher resolutions require additional upload bandwidth.
- Aspect Ratio: Choose an aspect ratio of either 16:9 or 4:3.
- Target Frame Rate: Enter your target frame rate. DV cameras usually stream at a higher frame rate; webcams tend to be more limited. Make sure to check with the manufacturer, and note that a higher frame rate requires additional upload bandwidth.
- Target Bitrate: The bitrate is the quality of the image being broadcast. The higher the bitrate, the higher your upload bandwidth must be. Adjust the bitrate with your connection in mind; note that your total bitrate is the sum of your video bitrate plus your audio bitrate.
- Keyframe Intervals: The keyframe is a complete frame of video. The more often a keyframe the higher the quality. The more keyframes the higher the stream rate or file size. For high motion content like live sports, you will want to have a higher keyframe ratio. A good general keyframe ratio is every 60 frames.
- Deinterlacing: Select 'Deinterlace' (if applicable) for a cleaner video from the video source. Deinterlacing converts interlaced video into a non-interlaced form. This reduces visual defects.
- Save Logs: Use this feature to save your Producer logs to the desktop for support related issues.
- Cropping: Adjust the portion of your feed that you wish to broadcast.
- Show color correction window: This option enables you to adjust your color settings on the fly during your live broadcasts.
